Porridge

Meet Porridge, a hamster rescued from the house hoarding case.

This little one initially struggled when she came to us. She wouldn’t burrow at first, often froze as she was so scared, and didn’t each much except for porridge (hence the name).

She had a wet bottom on occasion so we took her to Origin Vets Clinic who checked her over and thankfully couldn’t feel anything worrying. She’s been on antibiotics and support feed and does seem to be doing better. We are keeping a close eye on her.

She generally sleeps in or behind her wheel but gradually has started moving to less awkward places in her enclosure.

Any changes to her enclosure have to be done really slowly or she will freak out.

She is getting better and it’s really rewarding seeing her gain confidence.  She’s been through so much, but she is safe now.
