Hamsters for Adoption
Cyrus
Meet Cyrus, a hamster rescued from the house hoarding case.
Cyrus is a male Chinese hamster. When he first arrived he was clearly very shut down, with his ears pinned back and in freeze mode. Since settling in, he has not really made his presence known other than by the disappearance of water and food. He loves small chunks of tofu and mealworms.
Cyrus would be best suited to a home with minimal expectations of interactions or even initially, sightings. He absolutely loves to tunnel and has made escape routes out of his chosen hide in tunnel form so as to go unseen… so a large enclosure with particularly deep substrate would be ideal for him to feel safe. Perhaps a perspex sided enclosure so he could be spied in his dens.
He has not been spotted using his sand bath or wheel but he may come to use these in time and he may grow in confidence with more time and space which is so rewarding to see.
